Real Madrid Hold Position to Their Best
Real Madrid's bitter loss to Barcelona for the second time at the weekend made their position hold on the lead in the La Liga standings . The defeat also dismissed the club’s impressive 100% win record at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid’s superstar winger Cristiano Ronaldo claimed confidently ,‘Real Madrid never give up’ after Los Blancos’ hard-fought 2-1 victory over Almeria on Thursday. Real Madrid was able to acquire the maximum points away from their few opponents by Ronaldo’s solo equalizer goal and the 68th minute victory goal from Van der Vaart.
Coach Manuel Pellegrini narrated ,
“We must keep on pressing Barca. We are going to fight every weekend to clinch more points and pressurize Barcelona. Next up, we’ll be playing against Valencia. It will be a very difficult match to win.”
Pellegrini said: "I don't know if I'll see it, but that's not the most important thing, the important thing is what we do and that we finish the season in the same manner as we have been doing.
"We have six difficult opponents left, the same as Barcelona, and the one that's next is always the one that concerns you the most.
"Valencia have a very good squad and they are third. Hopefully we have the weapons to overcome them."
the coach's response "He is in the recovery phase and isn't ready to play tomorrow," .
"It was a difficult moment, but the team had the response that a coach hopes for. We had already seen it after going out of the Champions League and the Copa del Rey, we were facing a difficult opponent and everyone understood this and responded."
Pellegrini's squad therefore consists of the following 18 players:
Goalkeepers: Casillas, Dudek
Defenders: Arbeloa, Ramos, Marcelo, Albiol, Garay
Midfielders: Gago, Diarra, Lass, Guti, Granero, Xabi Alonso, van der Vaart
Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo, Higuain, Benzema, Juanfran
Valencia's score fall with Real Madrid victory
Valencia have been struggling for consistent form recently, winning just four times in their last ten matches in all competitions.
Valencia beat Athletic Bilbao 2-0 on Thursday to grab their 17th victory in the Spanish Primera Liga this season.
Coach Unai Emery stated:
“We are in good shape. But away from home, it’s the opposite. We have a 7-point cushion at the moment, but in two games we can lose it. Now we have to think about Sunday’s encounter. I hate to admit that there are two Valencias. One of them is the team that loses away from home and that’s something we must work on.
“On Sunday [against Real Madrid], there will be three points at stake. The team has to improve away from home. We have already lost too many away games already,” the boss concluded.
