FIFA increases the cheap seats

On Saturday FIFA,World football body, said that it raised the number of cheapest World Cup tickets to manage to sit more South Africans viewers into stadiums at Africa's first World Cup during June and July.

According to the Johannesburg Saturday Star, FIFA decreased the price of at least 30 percent of category 2 and 3 tickets, which cost up to 840 rand (110 dollars/ 80 euros), to 140 rand.

"We made clear right from the start of ticketing that we aim to increase the number of Cat (category) 4 tickets to up to 20 percent," on Saturday,FIFA said in a statement.

"This does not affect the already sold tickets."

Jerome Valcke, FIFA secretary general said this week that the football body was targeting approximately 20 percent ticket sales to South Africans.

Valcke said "We will increase the number of category four tickets because we cannot have a situation where the FIFA World Cup is in South Africa and people cannot see matches," .

on Saturday, FIFA said the recategorisation referd to that more tickets would be printed or distributed to the cheapest category except the seats currently available.

The organisation said,"It is not about dropping prices. The prices are not touched. The price for category 4 start at R140 for group games"

A total of 2.1 million tickets out of 2.9 million available have been sold for the tournament.

South Africans bought 898,170 tickets, followed by 121,190 in the United States and 98,056 in the United Kingdom.

Local fans had revealed the dissatisfaction about the high price of tickets and the rigid online application process that resulted in low amount of sales in the country.

Locals are World Cup's biggest health risk

South Africans might have the biggest problem to health care services during the fifa World Cup in accordance with health officials said on Saturday.

Head of Trauma at the Charlotte Maxeke Hospital,Professor Jacque Goosen said violence related to alcohol abuse would be the biggest challenge to health care services in coming fifa world cup.

"Community parties during sport events are a problem, not the people within the stadiums," said Goosen.

Goosen arranged a meeting and hosted a delegation on Saturday of health officials, including the Dr. Molefi Sesularo, deputy minister of Health, on a tour of state hospitals for inspecting their readiness and preparation for the World Cup on Saturday.

Injuries because of stabbing, shooting, falling, from buildings, unwanted demonstration of public and motor vehicle accidents might increase during sporting events, Goosen said.

"Fan Parks will be a source of pain," said Gauteng Health MEC, Quedani Mahlangu.

Dr Vijay Ramlakan, surgeon-General of the SA Military Health Services, said that satisfying Fifa health services requirements was not an issue, but rather providing sufficient and adequate health care to South Africans injured among parties during the one and half month of the event.

Sesularo said earlier when visiting to the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, the Bara hospital was prepared to service the opening and ending ceremonies of the 2010 Soccer World Cup.

He said the hospital was very crucial during these ceremonies because of its closeness to the Soccer City Stadium in Soweto. Ramlakan said hospital staff would be increased doubled on match days.

U.S. World Cup team gets plenty of good news

U. S. gets some good news in this world cup 2010. Landon Donovan has got some impressive games in England and several players came back from injuries and Charlie Davies's is thinking a come back soon.

On Saturday, the Landon Donovan of Galaxy helped Everton worry Manchester United, 3-1, after earlier assisting the Merseyside club tie Arsenal and defeated Manchester City and Chelsea. Everton's player of the month, Donovan is making the most excellence out of his loan spell in the English Premier League.
Fulham Coach Roy Hodgson said
On Thursday that Clint Dempsey would be well from a knee injury.

"His progress is good and he is working very hard to recover," according to Hodgson. "The medical staff is very happy with him."

AC Milan defender Oguchi Onyewu made it back onto the training field for the first time in four months when he worked out with the U.S. team in Carson said on Thursday

"It felt good just to feel part of a team again," said Onyewu, who broke his knee in a World Cup qualifier against Costa Rica in month October. "It was a big milestone in terms of my comeback."

On Wednesday, MauriceEdu returned from knee surgery and a subsequent ankle problem to help Scottish champion Rangers defeat St. Mirren, 1-0, to advance to the quarterfinals of the Scottish Cup.

So,these things are looking a bit brighter prospect on the World Cup for the U.S., but the best news is for Coach Bob Bradley came from Sochaux in France, where Charlie Davies is trying to come back after only four months being injured in a car acciden.

Davies, who suffered a broken leg, multiple facial fractures and a lacerated bladder in the October accident in Maryland that claimed one woman's life, had been expected to be sidelined for a year or more. Now, he has his sights set on South Africa 2010.

He told reporters in France"Deep down, I'm thinking about the World Cup, but I first want to return before the end of the season for Sochaux,". "Bob Bradley told me to take my time. He knows that I still have some way to go.

"I would say that I'm a month away from being able to train with the team regularly, and then I need a little time to get match fit again."

FIFA World Cup ticket prices

FIFA's cut prices of ticket for South Africans in this agreement that the hosts will fill the sit of stadiums during first World Cup in Africa in June, according to the media reports on Saturday.

According to the Saturday Star, FIFA has decreased the price of at least 30 percent of the 3 million category 2 and 3 tickets costing to 840 rand ($A122) to 140 rand ($AU21).

The decreased number of category 4 tickets taken or reserved specially for South Africans will be risen. It was cited in a FIFA announcement.

The organising committee of local FIFA could not be reached to confirm the announcement.

Local fans and supporters has reveal the unhappiness about the high price of tickets and the process of rigid online application, which has resulted the low sales of tickets in the country.

On Thursday FIFA chief Sepp Blatter said he was anxious that ticket prices were daunting away fans and supporter for the world's largest sporting event and asked tour operators to cut costs so that stadiums in South Africa would be filled fully with all type of fans.
